Alexia and Alfredo (Freddy) Rios started their debris removal business with one 16-foot dump truck and the dream of controlling their own destiny. In the last five years, they’ve expanded their services to include dirt work, demolition, land clearing, and concrete and asphalt pouring.
That 16-foot dump truck is still around for the small stuff, and they’ve added 8 40-foot eighteen-wheelers to their fleet. Plus, all the heavy equipment needed to cut, mulch, grade, trench, and pour just about anything else that needs to get done in East Texas.
They serve their community by employing their parents, aunts and uncles, and every cousin who wants a career in the construction industry, including some who found out real quick they’d rather sit behind a desk than sit behind the wheel of a backhoe, bulldozer, or skid steer.
But many stay because they’re treated like family even if they aren’t. That’s how Alexia and Freddy treat their employees, their subcontractors, and their customers—like family.
Freddy isn’t just a hard worker. He’s an entrepreneur with the eye of an engineer.
While driving an eighteen-wheeler in and around East Texas and the Southeast he noticed crews from Dallas and Shreveport driving to Tyler and surrounding areas to handle the residential and commercial excavation, demolition, and debris removal needs of East Texans.
That didn’t sit well with Freddy. He knew those crews from out of town or even out of state didn’t have a heart for the people in his community. Freddy and Alexia decided to invest in their own future by investing in the good people of East Texas. They bought that little dump truck and got to work.
Freddy hauled dirt and then debris. Alexia minded the books, saved some money, and got them in a good position to purchase the equipment needed to do demolition, too.
The reputation A A Trucking and Demolition had established—for asking a fair price and getting the job done right, on time—grew and so did their business.
Through nothing more than word-of-mouth referrals, they were able to expand their business and grow their fleet of trucks and equipment.
Freddy began to focus on providing all of the services needed to build a foundation for residential and commercial construction crews:
Now, Alexia and Alfredo are proud to be A A Excavation & Demolition, a licensed, bonded, and insured do-it-all construction company East Texas can count on.
